ACS to handle Goodyear's human resources unit
From Rubber & Plastics News
AKRON (Feb. 3)--Goodyear and ACS Inc. have signed a 10-year agreement under which ACS will handle the human resources operation for the tire maker's North American businesses.
About 100 human resources department full-time and contract employees have been transferred to ACS as part of the pact, a Goodyear spokesman said. They will remain at Goodyear's Akron headquarters but will become part of ACS.
The agreement places a wide range of human resources business process services under the guidance of Dallas-based ACS, a spokeswoman for the provider of business process and information technology services said.
ACS plans to initiate a major technology upgrade for the tire maker's human resources information system, giving the firm greater efficiencies and lower costs, the firms said in a joint statement.
