Albemarle FR prices up 15 percent

Baton Rouge, Louisiana- Albemarle Corp. is raising prices for its Saytex and Pyro-Chek brominated flame retardants by up to 15 percent, with effect from 1 July. The products are used in thermoplastic elastomers, rigid polyurethane foams, urethane formulations, and polyols, among other applications.
The hikes include 15-percent on the price of Saytex CP 2000, which is based on tetrabromobisphenol A, and 10-percent on certain decabromodiphenyl oxide- and tetrabromophthalic anhydride-based products.
