Albis takes over Alfagomma's TPV production

Milan, Italy- Albis Plastic GmbH of Hamburg, Germany, has taken over the global production and marketing activities for Alfagomma SpA's thermoplastic vulcanisates. The German firm was previously the exclusive distributor of the Alfater XL brand TPVs outside of Italy.
Under an exclusive licence deal, Alfagomma will transfer TPV production, including certain equipment, to Albis' site in Hamburg. “Both companies will organise the transfer of know-how and experience within the next six months,†Alfagomma added in a 16 July press announcement.
Albis will also take over the distribution of Alfater XL in Italy, with effect from February 2005, the statement continued. The two companies also aim to develop new products to extend the TPV range.
Alfagomma is a Euro150-million-turnover group primarily involved in the production and supply of hydraulic hose products made from rubber, PVC and TPE. Albis is a leading distributor of thermoplastics in Europe and also operate four plastics compounding sites worldwide.
