Alfagomma moves TPV production to Germany's Albis Plastic
MILAN, Italy (Aug. 13)--Albis Plastic GmbH of Hamburg, Germany, has taken over the global production and marketing activities for Alfagomma S.p.A.'s thermoplastic vulcanizates. The German firm previously was the exclusive distributor of the Alfater XL brand TPVs outside of Italy.
Under an exclusive license deal, Alfagomma will transfer TPV production, including certain equipment, to Albis' site in Hamburg. "Both companies will organize the transfer of know-how and experience within the next six months," Alfagomma said.
Albis also will take over the distribution of Alfater XL in Italy, beginning in February 2005, the firms said. The two companies also aim to develop new products to extend the TPV range.
Alfagomma is involved primarily in the production and supply of hydraulic hose products made from rubber, polyvinyl chloride and thermoplastic elastomer. Albis is a leading distributor of thermoplastics in Europe and also operates four plastics compounding sites worldwide.
