Nokian Tyres extends contract with Matador-to one million tyres eventually

Nokia, Finland-Nokian Tyres plc and Matador AS signed an agreement 5 Nov for Matador to increase its contract manufacture of passenger car tyres for the Finnish firm at its plant in Puchov, Slovakia.
Nokian will also spend Euros 3 million to buy new machines for the expanded production in Slovakia.
Initially, Matador will increase production for Nokian from 300 000 to 500 000 tyres in 2005 and the aim is then to gradually increase the volume to 1.0 million tyres.
Nokian's strength is in winter tyres-the photo shows one of Nokian's latest winter offerings-the Hakkapelitta 4.
