EU truck registrations climb 7.6 percent in 11 months
Brussels--Heavy truck registrations in Europe are increasing. Registrations in the 15 EU nations increased by over 7 percent in the eleven months to November 2004. A total of 213 000 heavy (over 16t) trucks were registered in the 15 countries during the period, up from 198 000 a year earlier. Germany showed especially strong growth, with registrations up almost 18 percent in the 11 months
Light truck (up to 3.5t) registrations increased 8.5 percent, to 1.71 million (from 1.57 million) in the same period. Spain showed strongest growth, with registrations up over 12 percent on the 11-month period
