Flexsys to sue Kumho over alleged patent infringements
Akron, Ohio--Flexsys is to sue Kumho Tire and Kumho Petrochemical and other companies over alleged patent infringements rel;ating to its 4-ADPA manufacturing process, used to make PPD anti-degradents
The company issued a statement saying it has commenced "a patent infringement action in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio against Kumho Tire USA, Inc., Kumho Tire Company, Inc. (Korea), Sovereign Chemical Company, Korea Kumho Petrochemical Company, Ltd. (Korea), and Sinorgchem Company (China). The Complaint alleges that the Defendants have infringed U.S. Patent Nos. 5,117,063, 5,453,541, 5,608,111, and 6,140,538.
Flexsys alleges that its patented 4-ADPA process has been used by Shandong Sinorgchem Co., Ltd. (Sinorgchem) and Korea Kumho Petrochemical Company (KKPC) to make products that are being imported into the US, and that Sovereign Chemical Company is importing and distributing those products.
Flexsys alleges that the Kumho tyre companies are importing tyres that include those products.
