Engineer for Michelin's Tweel to give keynote at SME event
Dearborn, Michigan--The US-based Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) has announced that Bart Thompson, innovation engineer for Michelin's "Tweel" product will be the keynote speaker at The SME Summit, being held on August 3-4, 2005 at the Olympia Resort & Conference Center,
Oconomowoc, (Milwaukee), Wisconsin.
Tweel, first seen at the 2004 Paris motor show, received a great deal of publicity when it was shown at the recent Detroit motor show. It is a combined tyre and wheel, in which the tread is supported on polyurethane struts, with no need for air pressure.
