Goodyear plans huge spend on Run-flat advertising
Geneva, Switzerland--Goodyear Dunlop Tyres plans a major spend on advertising its run-on-flat tyre technology in the comping months.
According to Arthur De Bok, Goodyear's vice-president consumer tyres in Europe, the time has come for Goodyear to lead the tyre industry by making consumers aware of this important technology. He said Goodyear has re-branded the Dunlop Self-Supporting Technology and Goodyear's Extended Mobility Tyre as Run-On-Flat.
"We are planning a big spend on TV, print and radio advertising" said de Bok speaking at a press conference at the Geneva Motor Show.
Earlier. Mike Roney, head of Goodyear Dunlop Europe said Goodyear is the clear leader in the run-flat segment, with over 55 percent of the market. Roney said Goodyear sold 1.3 million runflat tyres in 2004, and expects to sell over 2 million units in 2005.
