Changchun, China--Xinhua News Agency is reporting that a Chinese plant has begun production of "rare earth cis-butadiene rubber with independent intellectual property right" ERJ takes this to mean that the company has developed its own system for producing high-cis neodymium-catalysed polybutadiene.
Xinhua says the material was jointly developed by Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Jinzhou Branch of China National Petroleum Corporation. The report adds, "Compared with nickel cis-butadiene, RE cis-butadiene is more wear resistant and is energy saving, environmental friendly and of lower cost."
