Calif. board announces scrap tire design contest
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (May 17)--The California Integrated Waste Management Board has announced a Building and Landscape Design Competition to encourage the use of scrap tires in building and landscape products.
All entries must be made of 50-percent recycled materials, of which 30 percent must be whole tires, crumb rubber, shredded rubber or other tire-derived products. Interested parties have until June 24 to submit entry forms and between July 5 and 15 to submit prototypes, samples or models of their designs.
The CIWMB will award Best of Class, Best of Division and Best of Show awards, and exhibit the winners Aug. 12-Sept. 5 at the California State Fair as well as on the CIWMB Web site. For full contest rules, addresses for submissions and other information, visit www.itsgoodforcalifornia.com.
