Wire Rope Corp. buys Mexican bead wire producer
St. Joseph, Missouri --Wire Rope Corp. of America Inc. has purchased Mexican wire producer Aceros Camesa S.A. de C.V., whose production capabilities include tyre bead wire at a plant in Cuautitlan.
The purchase, for an undisclosed price, makes WRCA the largest wire rope manufacturer in the Western Hemisphere, with more than 250,000 tons of wire mill capacity and rope mill capacity exceeding 100,000 tonnes, the firm said.
The deal includes Aceros Camesa's U.S. unit, Camesa Inc., and all other subsidiaries and affiliated companies, WCRA said. Grupo Industrial Camesa, S.A. de C.V. was the selling party.
WRCA is active primarily in engineered wire rope products for the crane, mining and oilfield industries. This is its first capacity for bead wire.
