FIA publishes correspondence with Edouard Michelin
Paris--Following publication of extracts of a letter from Edouard Michelin to the FiA president Max Mosley, the FiA has published its own correspondence with Michelin.
Reuters published the extracts, claiming it had a copy of the letter sent from Mr Michelin to Mosley, and copied to the seven F1 teams that use Michelin tyres.
The exchange is blunt and angry, with Michelin saying he is discontented with Mosley's continuing "erroneous allegations" that Michelin is to blame for the problems at Indianapolis. Michelin asks Mosley to "at least recognize publicly that we (Michelin) have taken a courageous, honest and transparent stance for the safety of the [drivers]"
The FiA for its part "strongly contests the version of events detailed in Michelin's press release of 28 June, and rejects the views expressed in Edouard Michelin's ... letter ... of 27 June"
