MESNAC expands European operations
ERJ staff report (TP)
Dubnica nad Váhom, Slovakia – MESNAC European Research and Technical Center (MERTC), plans a major expansion of its operations based in Slovakia.
The construction of a new production facility and additional research facilities will take place in the northwestern Trencin region and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
The new centre will occupy an area of 3,000 square metres and will provide R&D, manufacturing and assembly – and will serve as the focal point for service to its European customers.
Karol Vanko, general director of MERTC, said: “This new structure will provide ideal conditions for the fulfillment of our parent company R&D projects, together with excellent facilities for manufacturing our premium tire building machines and other equipment to meet the ever increasing technical requirements of our global tire customers based in Europe.”
Whilst the focus will be on tire building machines, MERTC will have the capability to assemble hydraulic curing presses and other tire production equipment in the MESNAC product range.
Vanko added: “Although MESNAC has comprehensive manufacturing capabilities in China, with this new facility, we are going to recognize even more the special requirements of our European customers and be closer to their needs in terms of R&D, manufacturing and service.”
MESNAC Group currently produces over 300 tire building machines per year, making it the world's largest manufacturer in this sector of tire equipment manufacturing industry.
The group said the new R&D / manufacturing centre of MERTC is “part of a plan to achieve world leadership in technology, reliability and performance of tire building machines”.
MESNAC is the world’s second largest producer of tire and rubber manufacturing equipment headquartered in Qingdao, China and with technical, manufacturing and service facilities in Europe, Asia, India, Greater China, North and Latin America.
