IOM3 to host half day London meeting on rubber friction
Bristol, UK-The Rubber in Engineering group of the IOM3 is holding a meeting in London entitled Rubber Friction part A: 'Stick.'
The meeting starts at 14.00 on Friday 7 October, at 1 Carlton House Terrace, London.
Programme
14:00 "Friction with Rubbery Materials: the Basics," Vince Coveney, University of the West of England, Bristol
14:15 "Friction in Tyres and the Magic Triangle" Kevin Nideröst, Kumho Tyres, Birmingham.
14.30 "Grip in Racing Tyres," Stuart Andrews, Cooper-Avon Racing Tyres, Melksham, Wilts.
15:00 "Slip Resistance of Footwear," Mike Wilson, SATRA Technology Centre, Kettering, Northants
The meeting will finish with a group discussion at 16.00 followed by tea.
Following the postponement of the original meeting in July, the RIEG has had the foresight to set up an alternative venue: MIRA Ltd, Watling Street, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, CV10 0TM. The RIEG will use this alternative venue if circumstances make it difficult to hold the event as planned in London.
