Albemarle to raise chemical prices
Baton Rouge, Louisiana -- Albemarle Corp. will increase the price of several chemical types by 5 to 20 percent, depending on the product, effective on orders received after 1 Oct.
The materials affected include Albemarle's Ethanox and Ethaphos polymer oxidants; Ethanox fuel and lubricant antioxidants; Alblend polymer additive blends, and orthoalkylated phenol intermediates. The increases may include a change in minimum order quantities and shipping terms, the company said.
The hikes are being implemented because of significant increases in raw materials, packaging materials and shipping costs, Albemarle said.
