SEAT launches online tire ordering
ERJ staff report (BC)
Barcelona, Spain – Carmaker SEAT claims that “changing rubber has never been so simple” for its new online tire ordering service.
A database of over 3,000 tires is claimed to cover all makes and sizes, rating them on a monthly basis for price, fuel economy, wet grip, stopping distance and noise emission.
Using this information, the tool recommends a selection of suitable tires for any customer inputting their car details into the system. The initial selection can be refined by make, by price or in terms of the EU tire labelling parameters fuel economy, wet grip and exterior noise.
An all-inclusive cost for each set of tires is provided, including tire price, fitting, valves, balancing and disposal of old tires and, of course, the price of the tires themselves. Ordering then follows “in a few clicks”, says SEAT.
