Nigerian carbon black plant closes -- report
Nigeria - Local press reports indicate that the National Nigerian Petrochemical company has temporarily closed its refinery in the Warri peninsula area of Nigeria. The facility includes a carbon black production unit with nominal capacity of 18 kt/year.
Press reports suggest that the closure was due to lack of crude. other reports suggested that local tyre makers, including Dunlop Nigeria and Michelin may face carbon black shortages. Other carbon black facilities exist in Egypt and South Africa.
