Profile of Bridgestone Corp. places it 2nd after Michelin

Dublin, Ireland - Information retailer Research & Markets is selling the profile of Bridgestone Corp. by Just-Auto for Euro 82.

The 22-page report is summarised thus: "Bridgestone Group (Bridgestone) is a Japanese tyre manufacturer headquartered at Tokyo. The company is currently the second largest tyre manufacturer in the world, after the French major, Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin (Michelin). As of 2004, the company had a global market share of 18.2% in the tyre industry. Bridgestone also manufactures other rubber and industrial products such as marine fenders, conveyor belts, and hydraulic hoses. Bridgestone and its subsidiaries produce and sell tyres under different brands, including Bridgestone, Dayton, and Firestone. The company operates through two major segments, namely Tyres and Diversified Products. In the fiscal ended December 31, 2005, the company posted total sales of ¥2,691.3 billion, an increase of 11.4% over the previous fiscal."
