Yokohama hiking prices up to 7 percent
FULLERTON, Calif. --Yokohama Tire Corp. will increase prices on its passenger, light truck, medium truck radial and some off-the-road tires by up to 7 percent, effective June 1.
Passenger and light truck tires will increase up to 7 percent while medium truck radials, light truck commercial, earthmover and mining tires plus Mohawk and private brands will increase 5 to 7 percent.
"We´ve been working hard to keep prices in check through enhanced technologies and increased production capabilities," said Jim MacMaster, Yokohama's executive vice president, business division. "However, record escalating prices for raw materials, such as natural rubber, as well as rising transportation expenses must now be offset by our price adjustment."
