Degussa increases prices for pigment blacks

Frankfurt, Germany - Effective 1 May, 2006, Degussa AG will raise its prices by 9 percent worldwide for pigment carbon blacks produced in Europe. The company said this includes furnace blacks, lamp blacks and gas blacks.

Degussa's Advanced Fillers & Pigments Business Unit said "it has become necessary to raise the prices because of persistently and dramatically high prices for raw materials."
