Pirelli Tire Chairman Gori to keynote Tire Society meeting
Akron, Ohio -- Francesco Gori, Pirelli Pneumatici SpA chairman and managing director, will be the keynote speaker at this year's Tire Society meeting in Akron on 11-12 Sept.
Gori, head of Pirelli´s tyre business since November 2001, will open the two-day conference the morning of Sept. 11. The topic of his presentation was not given.
The Tire Society is a non-profit organisation established to disseminate knowledge and stimulate scientific and engineering development in the science and technology of tyres.
It holds its annual meeting traditionally in September in Akron. This year´s meeting, the society's 25th, will be held in conjunction with the International Tire Exhibition and Conference, taking place Sept. 12-14.
The group still is seeking technical papers for the event. Topics to be covered include tyre performance/mechanics; properties of tire materials; aging and endurance of tyres; tyre design and development; rolling resistance/traction/tread wear; tyre influences on ride/harshness; tyre noise; and advances in tyre manufacturing processes.
Abstracts of papers intended for presentation should be submitted by June 1, 2006. To submit an abstract, contact Ron Kennedy at tiresociety2006@hankook-atc.com.
