Lanxess adding rubber chemicals capacities in China, India
Shanghai, China - Lanxess AG is strengthening its presence in rubber chemicals in Asia with new and expanded capacity projects in China and India.
In China, Lanxess has set up a joint venture company, Anhui Tongfeng Shengda Chemical Co. Ltd., to make Vulkanox 4020 antioxidants (6-PPD, N-(1,3-dimethylbutyl)-N´-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine) at a plant being built in Tongling, Anhui Province. Production is scheduled to start in the second half of this year, Lanxess said.
In India, Lanxess´ Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH unit has started production of Rhenodiv water-based mold release agents at the firm's Madurai plant. Rhein Chemie said the growing radialisation of India's tyre industry is creating demand for water-based mould releases.
Lanxess did not disclose investment or capacity data for either project.
