All-rubber highway/railway bed on show in UK
Corby, UK - Holdfast Rubber Highways is holding an preview day for visitors to see the benefits of its all-rubber transport bed. The new bed is designed to be laid at relatively low cost and permit mixed traffic streams including cars and trams.
The event is scheduled for 1 June, 2006 in Corby, UK. The eventis free, but delegates must register (see link below) beforehand to control numbers. The preview day will include a full presentation, a visit to the test track and live demonstrations.
Peter Coates Smith, owner of HoldFast Level Crossings Ltd. says the new road system can be installed at a cost of around €1.2 million per km, compared with upwards of €17.5 million for conventional roads. He says the system is best intalled on existing or disused railway beds.
