Goodyear recognises employees who won patents
Akron, Ohio - The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has recognised nearly 350 of its technical associates for their inventions and innovations.
Among those honoured are inventors responsible for standout new products including DuraSeal technology, a built-in tyre sealant that repairs punctures when they occur; the Eagle tyre usig carbon fibres; and the Goodyear UltraGrip 7, an award- winning European winter tyre.
The inventors work in the company's Technical Centres in Akron, Ohio, and Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg, as well as manufacturing locations around the world. They were responsible for 159 US patents and 70 trade secrets in 2005.
The company recognised 19 associates as 2005 "Inventors of the Year," and 11 others were awarded special honours in recognition of their contributions over the course of their careers with the tyre maker.
