UK research group develops new rubber process for Pirelli
Stoke-on-Trent, UK -Â Researchers based at the UK-based Centre for Surface and Materials Analysis say that the company has become a significant partner to the R&D and process development of Pirelli Tyres Group on an international basis.
While saying that the detailed work CSMA does for Pirelli is confidential, the group issued a statement saying "CSMA has been applying its expertise and experience in looking at interaction of surfaces for wear, adhesion and release properties in both product and process development. Significant advances have been made during the period of this relationship, leading to an on going R&D contract for CSMA. A proprietary technology for rubber processing is under development which is likely to achieve substantial technical improvements and cost reduction in a number of Pirelli factories.
