Nexen to break ground on Chinese tyre plant -- report
Pusan, Korea - Nexen Tire is reported as saying that it plans a ground-breaking ceremony for its new tyre plant in China on Friday. The company has previously said it is planning an $80 million passenger/light truck tyre factory in China.
According to the Korea Times, construction is now underway and expected capacity will be 5.25 million tyres annually starting from 2009. The unit, in Qingdao, is projected to begin production in the second half of next year said the newspaper.
