ContiTech expands Romanian belt plant
Cleveland, Ohio - ContiTech's Power Transmission Group has expanded capacity for automotive drive-belts at its factory in Timisoara, Romania.
ContiTech Romania SBL, the firm's Romanian subsidiary, has opened a new 3440 m2 plant at its site there, mainly for increased capacity for automotive V-belts, said the company. The operation now boasts about 7000 m2 for production, service and administrative function, and can make up to 8.8 million belts per year.
The plant employs 500 workers and serves customers in Europe, along with both the automotive original equipment and aftermarket in North America.
