Lanxess gives details of new Indian capacity
Mumbai, India - Lanxess India has given the Indian press details of its proposed expansions in India. The company said it is setting up a facility to make Rhenogran rubber predispersions. The plant reportedly has a nominal capacity of 2000 tonne per year and is located in Madurai. It is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2006.
The company already has a production unit unit in Madurai, making leather chemicals. The new unit will operate under the Rhein-Chemie banner and recently started production of the Rhenodiv range of water-based release agents under the guidance of Dr. Manfred Breining. Lanxess said the new facility is being set up to meet the increasing demand from tyre manufacturers, resulting from the growth in the automotive industry.
Lanxess spokespersons were not available to comment on the story.
