Wayne, New Jersey - General Motors Corp. has selected the Hankook Optimo H725A all-season touring tyre as original equipment for its Chevy Cobalt and Malibu and Pontiac G5 and G6 vehicles.
The Cobalt and G5 will sport size P205/55R16H tyres while the Malibu and G6 will have P225/50R17S size, according to Hankook Tire America Corp.
The Wayne-based subsidiary of South Korea´s Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. said the Optimo was designed for compact and mid-sized passenger cars that balance fuel economy and performance. Hankook invested two years in developing the tyre, which scored its first OE fitment last year on GM's Saturn Ion.
Globally, Hankook supplies tyres to GM, Ford Motor Co. and Ford's Volvo unit, Hyundai Motor Co., Volkswagen AG, Kia Motors Corp., and Mitsubishi Motors Corp
