Trelleborg's AVS unit wins ISO 14001
Leicester, UK - Trelleborg Industrial's anti-vibration systems unit (AVS) has won ISO14001 for all its UK and European facilties. The company has previously won the same certification for its HQ in Sjöbo, Sweden, and now has brought its other facilities to the same standard.
The new certificate is granted by the Swedish organisation, Sveriges Provning och Forskningsinstitut and covers manufacturing in Leicester and Sjöbo as well as a customer care centre in Edinburgh and 15 home workers in Europe, Asia and the USA.
As part of the process, the company reduced the amount of waste going to landfill from 90 percent to 10 percent. The company now recycles 90 percent of its own waste.
The company's head office, technical centre and research and development units are located in a new purpose-built, 13 000 sq.m. factory in Leicester, while production is divided between Leicester and Sjöbo. Both are served by the recently-opened Customer Contact Centre in Edinburgh, staffed by a highly qualified team dealing with customers round the world in their own language and ensuring smooth processing of orders, scheduling and invoicing.
The company is also approved to ISO 9001:2000
