Preferred Rubber integrates businesses under one name

Barberton, Ohio - US-based custom mixer Preferred Rubber Compounding Corp. is re-naming its manufacturing units. The locations of the former Associated Rubber Co., acquired on 1 May, will now operate under the Preferred name.

"This allows us to present just one united face to the marketplace, whether customers or suppliers," said Preferred President Tim Eburne. "The Preferred name stands for a reputation that reflects our business philosophies and our methods of dealing with customers.

Quality management systems used in Preferred's headquarters site in Barberton are being installed throughout the company, including its computerised process and inventory control systems, Eburne said.

"As well, Preferred is adopting an enterprise software solution originally chosen by Associated to upgrade our Barberton operation. This system will improve efficiency, cut costs, allow us to react more swiftly and to take advantage of new business opportunities," he added.
