Farrel Corp buys assets of Gumix
Barcelona, Spain -Â The future of troubled machinery maker Gumix SA is now secure. US-based Farrel Corp. has purchased the technology and certain related assets of Gumix, located in Barcelona, Spain. The newly formed Farrel Spain SL will continue to offer the full line of Gumix products, including the Gumix rubber extrusion/gear pump technology, which is a proven performer in processing and straining rubber compounds. Farrel Spain SL also will provide full remanufacturing services for Farrel and Gumix products.
Gumix specialises in the development, design and manufacture of rubber mixing, extrusion and processing equipment and is a valued supplier to major international companies. The company has faced financial difficulties for about two years and the acquisition comes after a string of attempts to re-finance the company. terms of the deal were not disclosed.
