Michelin tops J D Power's Japanese survey -Â again
Tokyo -Â For the fourth consecutive year, Michelin ranks highest in satisfying vehicle owners in Japan with their winter tyres, according to the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2007 Japan Winter Tire Customer Satisfaction Index Study.
The study, now in its fourth year, measures five factors to determine overall customer satisfaction with winter tyres: tyre performance in snow-covered road conditions, icy road conditions and regular road conditions, as well as appearance and quality/durability. The overall index score is calculated based on customer evaluations and is scored on a 1000-point scale.
Michelin scored the highest out of seven brands, with an overall index score of 636 points. bridgestone was next with 606.
Overall, said J D Power, "The industry has improved notably in winter tyre performance in icy road conditions, compared with the 2006 study, and also earns higher ratings in the areas of regular road conditions, appearance and quality/durability."
