Lanxess to raise XNBR capacity in France
Leverkusen, Germany - Lanxess' technical rubber products (TRP) business unit is going to "slightly" expand production of carboxylated-nitrile-butadiene-rubber (X-NBR) in La Wantzenau, France. The product is supplied in solid bale form, according to Lanxess.
The changes will be implemented very shortly, due to the flexibility of the plant and the NBR portfolio itself,†said Lanxess product manager Olaf Isenberg-Schulz. A spokesman declined to reveal the capacity of the increase, but confirmed that X-NBR production is only a small percentage of Lanxess' total NBR production.
"In this process we will take advantage of the different production lines in La Wantzenau as well as of production at our Canadian site in Sarnia. This flexibility allows an ideal utilisation of our capacities and enables capacity increases without affecting the reliability of supply to our customers,†he continued.
