Bridgestone to invest €103m in China plant
ERJ staff report (TP)
Wuxi, China − Bridgestone is planning to invest $139m (€103.06m) to increase production capacity at its passenger car tire plant in Wuxi to help meet a growing demand for tires in the country.
The plant is expected to be finished by 2016, and the expansion will raise production capacity by 5,300 tires a day, taking daily production to 22,600 tires.
This development follows on from Bridgestone’s announcement in early October to invest $422.8m (€313.5m) at its passenger car tire plant in Haiphong, Vietnam. This will enable the plant to produce 24,000 tires a day by the second half of 2017 and up to 49,000 daily upon completion of the expansion.
