ContiTech to reveal new belts at IAA show
Frankfurt, Germany - ContiTech has launched its new Oil Runner timing belt, which it claims can be used in oily surroundings in place of a chain drive, at the IAA show, in Frankfurt. The show runs from 13 to 23 Sept.
The company will also introduce it Unipower tough grip v-ribbed belt. According to ContiTech's 11 Sept statement, this provides reliable service even if other components in the belt drive are misaligned.
“Nowadays motorists demand the longest possible maintenance intervals, or even engines that are completely maintenance-free," said Hermann Schulte, responsible for drive belt development at the ContiTech Power Transmission Group in Hanover. “Modern timing belt drives are thus being designed for a service life of 240 000 to 300 000 kilometres. That means they last as long as chains - namely, for the life of the engine,†he added.
