Shanghai Tyre changes subsidiaries´ names -- except CMA
Monrovia, California -- Shanghai Tyre and Rubber Co. Ltd. is changing the names of most of its subsidiaries and manufacturing plants to coincide with its own change to Double Coin Holdings Ltd., though its U.S. sales and marketing arm -- China Manufacturers Alliance L.L.C. (CMA) -- will stay the same for the "foreseeable future."
Shanghai Tyre is changing its name to "consolidate (its) corporate identity behind the company´s most recognisable and valuable asset, the Double Coin brand," CMA said in a statement. CMA also recently signed on with a marketing agency to develop Double Coin´s image in North America.
CMA, however, will not change its name "as they have developed strategic customers to whom they provide products that are outside Double Coin Holdings´ product lineup," the firm said in a statement.
"Double Coin branded products will continue to be the marketing focus for CMA," the company added. "They reflect our flagship brand and have global recognition."
