Tomkins' director of finance steps down
London -- The Board of Tomkins plc has announced that as of 1 October Kenneth Lever will step down from his role as finance director.
A 1 October statement from the company states that the decision was a mutual one between the board and Lever, and that Lever will now go on to pursue other interests. He will “assist the Board with an orderly transition of responsibilities until 31 October,†said Tomkins.
"I am very grateful to Ken for making such a major contribution to Tomkins over a long period,†said David Newlands, Chairman of Tomkins plc, in the statement. “I would like to extend him every good wish for the future,†he added.
The Board has also announced that John Zimmerman, who has been the group's vice president - Corporate Development since 1999, will become chief financial officer and a Board member as of today. Â

“I am also delighted that John Zimmerman has agreed to take up the role of Chief Financial Officer,†said Newlands. “I have worked with John for a number of years and wish him every success in his new role," he added.

David Carroll, currently executive vice President - Special Projects, will take over Zimmerman's role of executive vice president - Corporate Development, said the company.

Tomkins will announce its third quarter results on 7 November.
