Goodyear to invest €6 million to add silica to Taiwan plant - confirmed
Taoyuan, Taiwan -Â Goodyear has said it intends to invest NT$300 million (€6.33 million) in its plant in Taoyuan, Taiwan.
Goodyear Asia Pacific Chief Executive Pierre Cohade said the investment would help bring Asia's share of Goodyear's global production to 10 percent by 2010.
The investment is in the mixing area and the tyre building area, allowing Goodyear to mix silica compounds and to make tyres witth lower aspect ratios. The car- and light-truck tyre plant currently exports 60 percent of production to Europe.
