Artis runs elastomer training course
ERJ staff report (RD)
Wiltshire, UK - UK-based Artis, the rubber engineering specialist, is running two one-day courses, Â titled 'Engineering with Elastomers', at Avon Rubber plc in Wiltshire, UK. The first module is set for 2 April 2009 while the second is a week later on 9 April, the company has announced.
The course, split into two modules: 'Engineering with Elastomers' and 'Dynamic Mechanical Properties of Elastomers,' will combine experience of elastomers used in different applications with awareness of the latest research into the use of elastomers by those who have a thorough grounding in polymer physics, chemistry and engineering, the company said.
'Engineering with Elastomers' will, amongst other things, teach attendees how to design reliable products with elastomers, define product material tests in a way that are meaningful, and understand some of the commonly misunderstood issues surrounding large strain elasticity and some of the difficulties involved with working with elastomers.
The 'Dynamic Mechanical Properties of Elastomers' module will include when it is important to insist on additional, more product specific engineering measures for product validation or quality control when using elastomers.
Each module costs £350 exc VAT and the registration deadline is 27 March 2009. For further information call David Boast on 01225 896500.
