Melksham, UK – Avon’s flagship performance tire – the ZZ5 – has been honoured in the UK’s 2013 Fast Car Magazine Awards.
The ultra-high performance tire, aimed at medium sized high-performance cars, was given the ‘Long Lasting Performance Award’ in the magazine’s annual roll of honours, which features three tire accolades.
Developed across European roads and race tracks, including the legendary Nürburgring for high-speed durability testing, the ZZ5 is a perfect example of Avon translating knowledge gleaned from its extensive motorsport portfolio to the road.
The ZZ5’s Intelligent Asymmetric Tread Design (IATD) imparts confident handling and traction, as well as promoting balanced tread wear and enhanced wet grip, to deliver superior performance without compromising on durability.
Described by Fast Car Magazine as ‘British engineering at its best,’ Avon’s ZZ5 is a firm favourite amongst driving enthusiasts.
Sarah McRoberts, Marketing Communications Manager at Cooper Tire Europe, said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be featured in the Fast Car Magazine Awards; they really are considered to be the authority in the performance and modified sector, so it means a great deal.
“It’s also great that the ZZ5 has been recognised for this particular award. It was designed with performance and long-lasting wear in mind and, in that way, it’s fairly unique in the performance tire sector.”
Now in their sixth year, the Fast Car Magazine Awards are some of the most highly respected in the performance automotive sector.
