Negotiations continue over Kalamassery plant

Kochin, INdia -- Apollo has said it is keen to resume production of tyres at the plant in Kalamassery in southern India. The plant has been closed since 6 December after management locked workers out of the plant. The plant is owned by PTL Enterprises, but makes cross-ply truck tyres for Apollo.
Apollo has said it wants to expand the plant to 98 metric tonnes/day from 89 tonnes. It also wants to remove the mixing equipment and move it to another site. The union does not want the machinery moved
