Kraiburg invests in 2-K rubber-plastic composites
ERJ staff report (RD)
Waldkraiburg, Germany - Gummiwerk Kraiburg GmbH & CO. KG is heavily investing in the development of plastic-rubber composites, the company said recently.
In particular, the company has seen “excellent adherence values†in combinations of various thermoplasts and phenolic resins with rubber compounds that previously proved difficult to bond, Kraiburg said.
As a result Kraiburg is now developing a new basis for products that previously could only be produced by adding separate bonding agents. The company hopes that this will help to promote plastic-rubber products over rubber-metal products.
Kraiburg, a German manufacturer of technical rubber compounds, currently employs around 1600 staff.
