IRSG updates outlook for elastomers report

Singapore -- The International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) has published an updated forecast for the world rubber industry. After its meeting in SIngapore in March, the group agreed to update its forecasts following new projections of global growth from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Those projections were made available during APril
The updated Outlook for Elastomers report is now available from the IRSG. It presents forecasts for the vehicle sector and the tyre sector, preceded by the latest IMF projections for the world economy. Comprehensive coverage of the resulting forecasts for total rubber consumption by country or group of countries is provided. The final chapters assess the impact of alternative scenarios where the IMF forecasts are considered optimistic or pessimistic. In order to better see the effect of such scenarios, the forecasting period has been extended till 2011, rather than the usual two years up to 2010.
