John Bailey wins carbon black award from ASTM

Houston, Texas -- John A. Bailey Jr.,
quality systems manager at Continental Carbon Co. in Houston, Texas,
has received the Award of Merit and accompanying title of fellow from
ASTM International. The Award of Merit is ASTM's highest organisational
recognition for individual contributions to ASTM standards activities.
ASTM
Committee D24 on Carbon Black recognised Bailey for his exceptional
leadership and his contributions in the area of sampling and
statistical measurements and the development of new analytical
standards.
A member of ASTM International since 1988, Bailey is
the current vice chair of Committee D24 and chairs two of its
subcommittees. For his exceptional service to the committee, he
received the D24 Distinguished Service Award in 1998. In addition to
his work with D24, he also serves on Committee D11 on Rubber, where he
leads the subcommittee on statistical methods, and Committee E11 on
Quality and Statistics.
