Sempermed develops new vulcanisation process for latex

Wimpassing, Austria -- Semperit group said it has developed a new latex cross-linking process in collaboration with the Polymer Competence Centre Leoben. The news was revealed in the company's annual report, published last week.
The company said the new process, "enables the replacement of the chemical substances previously employed for the acceleration of the cross-linking process." The ocmpany said the goal is to make gloves and other products, "without the use of sensitising or allergenic chemicals." Sempermed said it expects to introduce new products based on the technology during 2010
