Bridgestone opens truck tyre plant in Poland

Stargard, Poland -- Bridgestone has officially opened its new state-of-the-art production facility at Stargard (Szczecin), Poland The € 200 million complex produces truck and bus radial tyres and is scheduled to reach 2500 units a day by 2010.
The unit is supposed to reduce Bridgestone's need to import truck and bus tyres from Japan and elsewhere, but comes at a time when the European truck tyre market is down by around 38 percent so far this year.
