Michelin publishes sustainability report

Clermont-Ferrand, France - Michelin has published its fourth sustainability report: “Michelin Performance and Responsibility 2007-2008,†the company announced 18 May.
The report is organised around five stages in a tyre's life: design, raw materials purchases, manufacture, sales and use, and end-of-life recovery, and analyses the tyre's environmental impact, Michelin said.
The report is an account of road mobility, tyre industry challenges and Michelin's performance in deploying its sustainable development approach.
Published every two years, this years report includes, forthcoming European directives on grading tyres according to their performance; Michelin fleet solutions; improvements in end-of-life recovery; and a report on ecosystem preservation action plans.
The report will also look into Michelin's environmental performance, energy efficiency, and safety initiatives.
