ERJ staff report (RD)
New York - Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness has been awarded the integrated marketing account for Durex, the major condom manufacturer, to handle all US advertising for the company's condom brands, Saatchi & Saatchi said 19 May.
Despite the global recession, the 80-year-old Durex brand has seen sales rise by 5 percent in Q4 2008 and 6 percent in January, compared to the same time periods the previous year.
“I couldn't be more thrilled at the creative opportunities this brand represents,†said Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness chief creative officer, Helayne Spivak. “Great work has been done in this category and we are more than ready to set even higher standards,†Spivak concluded.
Durex currently accounts for around 29 percent of the global branded condom market, the statement said.
